Book Talk in North Yarmouth by Rinker Buck, author of The Oregon Trail

Rinker Buck, author of The Oregon Trail: A New American Journey, will speak at the North Yarmouth Congregational Church, 3 Gray Road, North Yarmouth, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7. He had a dream and together with his brother Nick, they turned that dream into an epic adventure.

In the summer of 2011, the Buck brothers retraced the 2,000 mile Oregon Trail along that heavily rutted path that had taken a half-million pioneers across the United States in the mid-1800’s. Rinker and Nick, along with a Jack Russell terrier, took the four month journey fromMissouri to Oregon in a covered wagon, pulled by three indomitable mules.

Their journey is chronicled in Rinker's 2015 book, The Oregon Trail: A New American Journey, published by Simon & Schuster. The book has received rave reviews and promptly made the New York Times Best Seller list when first published.

Mr. Buck’s presentation is proudly sponsored by Skyline Farm Carriage Museum, North Yarmouth, and Royal River Books, Yarmouth. Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing. Contact Greg Cuffey for further information at (207) 892-0188.
