Speak Out Competition for Greely High School Students

The Cumberland / North Yarmouth Lions Club is hosting their annual Speak Out competition on March 14th.  The goal is to provide high school students with an opportunity to think about important issues facing them & their community.  Speaker contestants will prepare a 5-minute speech on an important issue facing them, our community, the State, or the Nation. Upon completion, speakers will be asked one question each by two questioners.  Speeches are scored by three judges based on content, presentation, and adhering to time limits. The local winner will move on to compete at the district Speak Out competition. This is a great opportunity for students to practice their public speakingwin cash prizes, and receive local and regional recognition.

Please see Mr. Curry or Mr. Livingston, GHS teachers, for details and visit http://www.cnylions.org/speak-out-contest for contest rules. Interested students will need to sign-up in advance of the competition.
