Amy Jacobson, MSAD #51 Special Education Teacher, was recognized on court at the February 27, 2014 Red Claws basketball game as an invaluable member of the MSAD #51 community.  The Maine Red Claws look for and  support those individuals within Maine who selflessly give back to their local communities and Amy is a fantastic example of that spirit.

When asked about Amy’s contributions to the community, Mar-E Trebilcock, Greely Middle School Principal said,  “Amy has served countless students and their families over the years through her commitment to the Functional Life Skills and Special Olympics programs in MSAD #51.   She feels strongly about and works toward expanding her students' connections both within the school environment and in the local community through numerous outings and volunteer experiences.  Amy maintains focus on creating learning experiences geared toward developing the skills her students need as they transition out of school and into the world.   She develops lasting relationships with the families of the children with whom she works.  She is a respected member of the MSAD #51 learning community and is completely deserving of the hometown hero honor.   Thank you Amy for your innumerable hours of dedication to our children and community!”

Congratulations Amy!
