Welcome to Jayme Jones, GHS Assistant Principal

posted Aug 7, 2013, 11:20 AM by Susan Conley
Dear MSAD #51 Community:

Superintendent Bob Hasson and Principal Dan McKeone are pleased to announce the appointment of Jayme Jones as the new Assistant Principal for Greely High School.  Ms. Jones has a strong background in curriculum development and in cultivating a positive student climate.  Prior joining our Greely community, she served as the assistant principal for the elementary school and the high school in Raymond, New Hampshire and previously taught high school English in Virginia. Selected among a highly qualified pool of applicants, Ms. Jones impressed the selection committee with her professionalism and her dedication to all students.  She began her transition to GHS this week, and is excited to meet our students.

For your reference, please find information regarding the search process for this position:

The advertising for the GHS Assistant Principal position yielded thirty-five applicants. The search committee consisted of twelve members: two parents, two district administrators, two students, three school board members and three members of the Greely High School faculty. The committee screened the applicants and chose to interview six candidates --one candidate declined the offer to interview. The search committee was divided into two groups and each candidate was interviewed twice. The committee reconvened on July 17 and reached consensus to identify two top candidates. The two finalists returned to the district on July 19 to meet informally with some high school staff prior to interviewing with Dr. Hasson, Sally Loughlin and Dan McKeone. Jayme Jones emerged as the number one candidate, and was nominated by Dr. Hasson to be appointed as the Assistant Principal. Reference checks were completed and Jayme was interviewed by the MSAD #51 Board of Directors on July 31 in a special executive session.  The board voted unanimously to approve her nomination at that meeting.
